Biography

Julie is a strategic problem-solver who helps clients navigate complex real estate and regulatory challenges with clarity and confidence. She represents national mortgage lenders and other stakeholders in residential and commercial property matters, including code enforcement, title disputes, mechanics liens, eminent domain and lien priority. Known for her foresight and practical approach, Julie develops cost-effective strategies that protect investments and minimize disruption.

She spent over a decade at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), managing multifamily, single-family and assisted living loans from application through closing—and sometimes foreclosure. Her deep knowledge of HUD regulations and internal processes now helps clients navigate transactions and disputes with confidence. She also advised on labor, Fair Housing Act and FOIA matters and was a sought-after trainer for her clear, approachable style.

Julie’s legal practice is informed by a rich background in government and housing policy. Before law school, she interned with Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, in the White House under President Barack Obama and for Congressman Ben Chandler, gaining hands-on experience in legislative affairs, constituent services, policymaking, and background research. As a law student she interned with Judge Jennifer Coffman and contributed to Congressional response efforts at the U.S. State Department, honing her legal drafting and advocacy skills.

She holds the American FFA Degree (the highest level of achievement awarded by National Future Farmers of America), is a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the White House Alumni Association. In 2024, she received the HUD Secretary’s Award for Service.

Outside of work, Julie is passionate about housing equity, LGBTQ and women’s rights and civil justice. She enjoys yoga, outdoor adventures and time with her large Kentucky family, especially her two nieces.
