Dinsmore Strengthens National Litigation Bench with Six New Attorneys in Lexington
National law firm Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is expanding its commercial litigation capabilities nationwide with the addition of five associates and partner Drake Staples to its Lexington office. Drake, a veteran attorney with nearly a decade of experience in construction law and complex litigation, joins a growing team that strengthens the Firm’s national bench.
Drake has a successful track record in advising owners, contractors, subcontractors and design professionals on transactional matters and disputes. He has drafted, negotiated and managed construction and vendor contracts for data center developers across the United States. In addition to his construction practice, Drake is a versatile litigator, who regularly represents clients in business litigation, trust and estate disputes and tort and insurance defense matters. His experience also includes arbitration, mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
“Drake’s ability to handle both transactional and litigation matters makes him an invaluable resource for our diverse client base,” said Office Managing Partner Grahmn Morgan. “His knowledge of construction law and commercial disputes strengthens our team and enhances the services we provide here in Lexington and coast to coast.”
A lifelong Kentuckian, Drake has worked closely with companies across the Commonwealth. His arrival at Dinsmore will give his clients access to attorneys from other practices from the Firm’s national footprint.
“Dinsmore’s size and national platform is a great base for me to expand my practice and offer my clients more services,” said Drake. “While most of my clients are Kentucky based, this gives them resources to grow nationally and deepens the bench I have for them locally.”
Drake was born and raised in Monticello, Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.B.A. in Finance and Marketing. He earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
In addition to Drake, five associates have recently joined Dinsmore’s Lexington office, expanding the depth of the Firm’s litigation group. Remy Gaines, Hayden Hickey and Lucas Tanaka came aboard in September, while Scott Kenkel and Justin Haubner joined in December.
