With more than a decade of experience in the Department of Homeland Security, Alla brings unique perspectives to solving his clients’ challenges, both domestically and across the globe. He primarily focuses on complex immigration, government investigations and regulatory compliance matters, representing clients ranging from multinational corporations and established middle-market companies to startups, entrepreneurs, and individuals. Drawing on more than a decade of experience in private practice and federal government service, Alla provides practical, business-focused counsel to clients facing evolving legal and regulatory challenges. His practice encompasses immigration, internal investigations, regulatory compliance, white-collar and financial crimes matter, fraud prevention, and cybercrime.

A significant component of Alla’s practice is immigration law. He advises employers of all sizes on the full spectrum of business immigration matters, helping organizations attract, retain, and manage talent in an increasingly complex regulatory environment. His experience includes employment-based visa petitions, workforce compliance, I-9 and employment verification matters, global mobility strategies, and immigration planning for executives, professionals, investors, and highly skilled workers. He also represents startups and growing companies as they scale their workforces and navigate immigration considerations critical to business expansion. In addition, Alla counsels’ individuals and families on family-based immigration, naturalization, and related matters, providing personalized guidance through every stage of the immigration process.
In the regulatory and investigations arena, Alla advises clients on anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing, fraud prevention, sanctions compliance, cyber-related risks, and government investigations. He assists clients with internal investigations, compliance program development, regulatory inquiries, and risk assessments, drawing on extensive experience advising law enforcement personnel and government agencies on complex enforcement matters. Alla is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) through the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS).
Before joining the firm, Alla spent more than 12 years with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), where he served in several leadership roles, including Deputy Chief Counsel for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Chicago. He also served as a designated national security attorney holding a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, advising on matters arising under the national security and terrorism provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
