Edward “Ed” Carroll serves as the firm’s Chief Information Officer. He works to ensure technology supports the firm’s broader business strategy and creates an environment where efficiency, speed, and security move forward together. Positioned at the intersection of business strategy and technology, he oversees infrastructure, application development, project management, support, and innovation. His focus is aligning these areas to support the firm’s goals.
He also ensures that all the systems used by attorneys and business professionals to manage cases and documents operate efficiently, that the infrastructure that protects highly sensitive client data, and even the firms growing use of AI and emerging technologies drive performance at every level.
Ed brings extensive experience managing international infrastructure, support organizations, application development teams, eDiscovery functions, project management, and administrative functions. This background has given him a strong foundation for leading a law firm’s IT department.
His leadership skills are strongest in the areas of Enterprise IT strategy, multi-office operations leadership, team building and organizational restructuring. He also works on budgeting and cost management; mergers, integrations and office transitions, and security, governance and business continuity. In addition, he partners with firm leadership to support decision-making and advance initiatives such as including generative AI strategy and PMO development.
Some qualities about himself that Ed values are being transparent, service oriented, pragmatic and most of all, approachable. Ed has found that strong communication skills, practicality, and being service oriented have made him the most successful in this role, and in life outside of work.
Ed is a member of the International Legal Technology Association and is a board member of The Circuit, an organization that connects the greater Cincinnati region’s tech industry.
