Andy serves as Chair of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Group, where he focuses his practice on representing employers in all aspects of Ohio workers’ compensation matters. He regularly appears on behalf of employers in administrative proceedings before the Ohio Industrial Commission and litigates contested claims in state courts throughout Ohio. Andy has successfully defended employers through all stages of litigation, including obtaining favorable jury verdicts, and is known for being a strong, practical advocate for employers both in the hearing room and in the courtroom.
Andy brings a unique perspective to his practice based on his professional experience prior to entering law school. Before becoming an attorney, he handled liability and casualty claims for Safeco Insurance Company and Macy’s department stores, giving him firsthand insight into claims handling, risk management, and loss control from the employer and insurer standpoint. This background allows him to provide clients with pragmatic, business-focused counsel tailored to both operational and financial objectives.
In addition to his client work, Andy is actively involved in professional leadership and education within the workers’ compensation community. He has served in leadership roles with the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Committee and is a frequent speaker for trade associations, bar associations, third-party administrators, insurers, and employer groups across Ohio. Andy regularly presents on emerging legal trends, claims strategy, and best practices for managing workers’ compensation risk, helping employers stay informed and proactive in an evolving legal landscape.
