Chief Financial Officer

Jennifer “Jen” Deal serves as the firms Chief Financial Officer. She ensures the firm’s financial strategy supports its broader business objectives while fostering an environment where fiscal discipline, agility, and insight advance together. Jen is positioned at the intersection of finance and strategy, she oversees the nuts and bolts of the broader finance team, including financial reporting, conflict and client intake, and tax and ancillary businesses. Her focus is aligning these functions to drive sustainable growth, informed decision-making, and long-term financial health.

In addition to these responsibilities, she oversees other financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and billing. She also plays a key role in evaluating potential mergers by reviewing financial information, assessing financial viability, and analyzing opportunities that support the firm’s growth.

Jen brings a strong foundation in public accounting along with years of financial leadership experience to the firm. After joining Dinsmore as a Tax Manager, she advanced through roles such as Controller and Director of Finance before becoming the CFO. This experience provides a deep understanding of the firm’s financial operations and strategic planning.

Jen’s long tenure with the firm offers a valuable perspective. Since 2008, she has insight into many aspects of how the firm operates, allowing her to connect financial functions and support collaboration across teams.

Organization, attention to detail and strong communication guide her work. A practical and responsible approach helps her manage a wide range of responsibilities while remaining approachable to her team.

Jen is a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the Ohio Accountancy Board, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Legal Administrators.

Outside of the office, Jen is kept busy by her daughters and granddaughters and enjoys reading. A message that she carries with her is, “you have to accept whatever comes, and the important thing is that you meet it with the best you have to give” by Eleanor Roosevelt.
