As a leader in health care finance, our attorneys represent issuers, borrowers, investment banks, trustees and commercial lenders on transactions, including financings for innovative health care programs benefiting clients, including regional and national health care systems, smaller independent hospitals and critical care access hospitals.

Our experience also includes advising on financings for acute care facilities and long-term care facilities, including continuing care retirement communities, assisted living communities and independent living apartments, as well as financings for providers with special considerations, such as mental health facilities, alcohol and drug abuse treatment facilities, and facilities for the mentally disabled. This depth of experience enables our attorneys to provide insight that meets each client’s unique financing needs.

Additionally, as the need for senior living facilities increases, our health care finance group has emerged as a leader in this area, ranking in the top five nationally by dollar volume (Thompson Reuters) for senior living. We also have gained valuable experience working with alternative delivery providers throughout the county to help our clients continue to deliver services to indigent and medically underserved communities, especially in rural areas.

The members of the group are experienced with both public offerings and bank private placements. Our Section 103 tax attorneys provide timely and in-depth consultation on all our health care transactions, seeking opportunities to be innovative while protecting the tax-exempt status of the transaction. Our previous engagements have included transactions for Ashland Hospital Corporation, Mercy Health, Christian Living Communities, Plan de Salud del Valle, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Peak Vista Health Services, Ohio Health, Regional West Medical Center, Frasier Meadows, National Church Residences and University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
