Health Care

A wide variety of health care clients, ranging from regional and national health care systems to smaller independent hospitals and critical care access hospitals trust our team’s experience in handling health care financings. We routinely represent issuers, borrowers, investment banks, trustees and commercial lenders on transactions, including financings for innovative health care programs that benefit our clients and the communities they serve. Our efforts have led to numerous recognitions, including having served as bond counsel for the “Healthcare Deal of the Year” multiple times, as recognized by The Bond Buyer.

Our experience also includes advising on financings for acute care facilities and long-term care facilities, including continuing care retirement communities, assisted living communities and independent living facilities, as well as financings for providers with special considerations, such as mental health facilities, alcohol and drug dependency treatment facilities and facilities for the mentally disabled. This depth of experience enables our attorneys to provide insight that meets each client’s unique financing needs. Additionally, as the need for senior living facilities increases, our health care finance group has emerged as a leader in this area, tailoring strategies to ensure our clients are able to meet their objectives in serving this population. Finally, we also have extensive experience working with alternative delivery providers, helping our clients continue to deliver services to indigent and medically underserved communities, especially in rural areas.

The members of the group are experienced with both public offerings and bank private placements. Our Section 103 tax attorneys provide timely and in-depth consultation on all our health care transactions, seeking opportunities to be innovative while protecting the tax-exempt status of the transaction.
