Dinsmore is seeking a Commercial Finance Paralegal to join our Commercial Finance practice group at our Indianapolis, IN location. The ideal candidate will support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment handling a wide variety of commercial lending transactions, including HUD-insured (HUD) loans, conventional loans, and other complex secured lending matters.
Responsibilities
- Preparing, reviewing, and managing documentation related to HUD and conventional loan transactions
- Reviewing and analyzing due diligence materials including corporate documents, organizational charts, and UCC searches
- Drafting loan closing checklists, certificates, resolutions, closing instructions, and ancillary loan documents
- Coordinating with lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel to ensure timely and efficient closings
- Reviewing title commitments, surveys, and exception documents, and preparing title and survey summaries
- Reviewing corporate documents and organizational documents
- Preparing and organizing closing binders and post-closing documentation
- Conducting UCC filings and maintaining thorough records of all filings and documents
- Proofreading and formatting legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Supporting attorneys with ongoing transaction management, from term sheet to closing
- Performing legal due diligence and managing closing checklists under attorney supervision
- Maintaining and tracking closing calendars and deliverables
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent relevant experience
- 5 years of experience in commercial finance or real estate transactions
- Ability to produce high-quality, billable work with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Professionalism, discretion, and ability to work effectively with clients, attorneys, and outside parties
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently or collaboratively under deadlines
- Commitment to excellence, responsiveness, and client service
