Accounts Payable Clerk

Responsibilities

  • Open and sort department mail
  • Process daily and emergency checks for all offices
  • Sort and code invoices and check requests
  • Verify that invoices, check requests and expense forms have necessary approvals
  • Bar code, enter and scan invoices and check requests into accounts payable system
  • Match checks with corresponding invoice, check request or expense form and submit for signature
  • Mail checks with required documentation
  • File paid invoices and check request
  • Responsible for Petty Cash, payouts, receipts etc.
  • Enter costs for petty cash, copy charges, charge memos etc.
  • Import, make corrections and post various disbursement files
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
  • Set up and maintain vendors
  • Review previous and prior day bank activity, enter ACH debits daily
  • Process wires, ACH & virtual card payments through bank online system
  • Review & approve expense reimbursements for compliance with firm policy using Chrome River
  • Train attorneys and staff on use of Chrome River, answer questions re same
  • Make various types of General Ledger entries
  • Assist with preparation of firm budget
  • Assist with preparation of 1099s
  • Balance and enter firm MasterCards.=
  • Balance and maintain various firm deposit accounts, USPTO, JACS, WIPO etc.
  • Process Advance Account Statements prior to each payroll, answer questions & resolve issues with same
  • Set up and maintain employees in Aderant
  • Balance firm operating and Iolta accounts monthly
  • Pay rents and contract attorneys per schedules provided
  • Print retired partner advance accounts, pay or request payment as needed
  • Follow all Firm established accounting policies and procedures

Requirements

  • High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Associate degree in business or accounting is preferred
  • 1-3 years accounts payable and general accounting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, working knowledge of Microsoft Word

Dinsmore has an immediate opportunity available for an Associate in the Cincinnati or Columbus, Ohio offices with a minimum of two years of experience with commercial finance transactions (e.g. institutional lending including life insurance company loans and agency backed loans including FHA, USDA, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae). As a payroll manager at Dinsmore, you will be a member of the Human Resources team and responsible for supervising the daily operations of payroll while ensuring compliance to all policies and procedures of the firm.
