Dinsmore & Shohl is seeking a billing clerk for our Cincinnati location.  This position will be responsible for the daily billing functions including time and cost transfers, write-downs, computer bills, special bills, void/rebills, and attorney inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all aspects of billing for assigned attorneys and clients in accordance with firm policies and procedures
  • Coordinates all aspects of electronic billing through client electronic billing sites and E-billing Hub as required by clients
  • Reviews, edits, and processes pre-bills
  • Reviews pre-bills to ensure accurate application of retainers, on account expenses, on account fees, unapplied and trust funds
  • Performs various reconciliation and monitoring adjustments to ensure final invoice to client is accurate, including write offs, rate overrides, etc.

Payroll Specialist

Dinsmore has an opening for a payroll specialist in our Cincinnati, Ohio office.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll
    • Data entry and imports for biweekly and monthly distributions
    • Process Advance Accounts
    • Perform various balancing as directed by Payroll Manager and HR Director, Total Rewards
    • Calculate and issue manual checks, as needed
    • Provide back up to Payroll Manager to perform General Ledger uploads
    • Auditing pre and post payroll commit; W-2 management year end audit
    • Maintain Wage Garnishments
    • Perform payroll tasks from start to finish under guidance of Payroll Manager and HR Director, Total Rewards
    • Enter and balance Fine Arts and United Way deductions
    • Perform payroll adjustments as needed
    • Maintain HRIS payroll setup
    • Research, analyze, and resolve all discrepancies, reporting to management as needed
    • Conduct year-end reporting for W-2s
  • Parking
    • Maintain pre-tax commuter and transit deductions from employee paychecks
    • Balance and process monthly parking invoices
  • Attendance/Workforce Management
    • Assist HR Generalist with additional PTO payout, calculations and communications
    • Back up to HR Generalist for workforce management (attendance) questions
    • Audit timesheets
  • Benefits
    • Back up to HR Generalist, Benefits to audit and pay monthly benefit invoices. Perform monthly audits on benefit deductions
    • Balance loan and 401k deductions and initiate wire to Fidelity after every payroll, Keep records for annual audit
    • Balance HSA deductions and initiate wire to Fidelity after every payroll
    • Assist HR Director, Total Rewards and HR Generalist, Benefits to update benefit deduction changes when necessary such as open enrollment, year end, renewals, etc.
  • Reporting
    • Produce ad hoc reports as needed
    • Ohio Department of Labor Monthly Reporting – Headcounts
    • Monthly Partner Profit sharing balancing report to Tax Manager
  • Various Assignments as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
  • Physically able to work seated in front of a computer for long periods of time
  • Experience working in multi-state payroll is a plus
  • Team-player with excellent interpersonal skills

Mailroom/Office Services Clerk

Dinsmore has an opportunity for a mailroom/office services clerk in our Cincinnati office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collection, sorting, and delivery of daily mail
  • Coordinate and assist with local delivery (downtown area) of documents and packages on a daily scheduled basis
  • Handle all emergency deliveries
  • Assist with document production, serve as a backup in firm copy center
  • Assist with conference room set-up ensuring rooms are cleaned and properly stocked   
  • Perform general office duties

Requirements

  • Superior interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of the firm (attorneys, secretaries, administration, and other members of staff) and with clients and visitors
  • Ability to conduct work with strong personal and professional ethics and integrity
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Must be able to create, edit, proofread, and finalize all written communication, including emails, memos, documents, etc.
  • Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Valid driver’s license and daily access to a personal vehicle
  • 1-2 years of experience working in an office environment
