Legal Secretary

Cincinnati, OH

Dinsmore has an exciting Legal Secretary opening in our Cincinnati, Ohio office. This secretary will support multiple attorneys in the Labor & Employment practice groups.  The ideal candidate will have experience working with Labor & Employment attorneys.

This secretarial position will include traditional legal secretarial responsibilities including filings, client management, billing, time entry, formatting, proofreading and editing of documents, travel arrangements, and other legal assistant functions. We seek candidates that are self-directed, high energy, and have advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive contact with clients, attorneys, and staff
  • Provide typical secretarial support functions including knowledge of specialized terminology relevant to the practice area
  • Manage attorney/paralegal communications
  • Preparation and processing of documents – Multiple electronic filings throughout Ohio Courts
  • Maintain schedules and calendars of multiple attorneys/paralegals. 
  • Open all team files
  • Data entry and maintenance with client systems
  • Prepare reinstatement/payoff letters

  • Ensuring the effective and timely delivery of outgoing mail, messenger deliveries, overnight deliveries, and facsimiles.
  • Fielding calls from borrowers, clients, and other outside parties in a courteous and effective manner.
  • Ensuring timely, courteous, and thorough responses to a heavy volume of email correspondence.
  • Developing and maintaining collegial relationships with business associates and clients.
  • Reviewing title reports and recorded documents.
  • Proofreading the legal documents as required.
  • Providing support to attorneys in a high volume, time sensitive atmosphere.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of legal secretary experience
