Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is pleased to welcome attorney Terri Stallard, who has joined the firm’s Lexington office as a partner in its leading Private Client & Family Wealth Planning practice group.

She joins from McBrayer PLLC, where she practiced since 2004. Stallard focuses on estate planning, business succession planning and asset protection, typically for clients with eight figures-plus in assets. With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing unabated, Stallard’s work is more pertinent than ever for two reasons: Low federal interest rates are driving clients to consider different trust options for financial gifting, and they are also ensuring their affairs are in order in preparation for the worst-case scenario.

“For the first time, people are calling en masse asking what their plan says and what they can do to make it as effective as possible,” Stallard said. “I’m updating plans constantly now, even just with simple changes to accommodate for the situation we’re all in. I do anything I can to really help my clients.”

Having begun her career as an attorney at the IRS, she is uniquely equipped with the knowledge to help clients navigate all possible options to preserve financial value for themselves and their families.

“The first thing I ask my clients is what their goals are,” Stallard said. “I spend time developing that relationship so I can effectively do what they need, which is typically to protect their money for their children and grandchildren.”

Stallard is the the fifth attorney in Dinsmore’s private wealth group in Lexington, and the 43rd in the group nationally, which earned a Band 1 ranking in the 2020 edition of Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide. She expands Dinsmore’s capability to serve the local market, complementing the firm’s already robust offering.

“Joining Dinsmore is the best decision I could make for my clients,” Stallard said. “I want to give them every opportunity possible. At Dinsmore, nothing falls through the cracks. When my clients need it, I can call upon our great litigators, our deep bench of corporate counsel, our real estate attorneys and so many more.”

And the firm’s leadership is equally excited about her arrival.

“Terri is an outstanding lawyer with a well-earned reputation for excellence and first-rate client service,” said Lexington Office Managing Partner Chauncey Curtz. “She is a terrific addition to our wealth planning practice, and we very pleased she has joined us.”

In July, Dinsmore’s Private Client & Family Wealth Planning practice group earned a Band 1 ranking in the 2020 edition of Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide. The accomplished group features more than 40 attorneys across the country.
