Faisal S. Rahman

Faisal focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution, as well as providing invalidity and non-infringement opinions. He works with clients across a broad range of technologies, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, software, medical devices, automotive systems, and more.

Before joining Dinsmore, Faisal spent eight years as a mechanical engineer, where he partnered with clients to identify safety concerns in product design and assess operational risks in manufacturing processes. His engineering experience spans multiple industries, including military, clean energy, and automotive, giving him a practical perspective on innovation and risk management.

Faisal earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law, graduating magna cum laude. During law school, he competed in the Giles S. Rich Moot Court Competition in Boston and received CALI Awards in IP Licensing and UCC – Sales. He gained hands-on experience in patent prosecution during his summers, working on technologies such as household appliances, automotive equipment, and electrical circuits. Faisal holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton. As an undergraduate student, Faisal contributed to jet engine design for GE Aerospace, conducted biofuels and materials research for the United States Military, and worked abroad on environmental engineering projects for a non-profit organization in La Paz, Bolivia.
