Trent has maintained a civil trial practice throughout his career, defending and advising clients in the manufacturing, retail, pharmaceutical, and insurance industries regarding liabilities arising from product defects, toxic exposures, consumer protection claims, professional malpractice, insurance coverage, premises liability, and catastrophic injuries.
He has been retained to assist clients in large scale litigation projects, including class actions and serial litigation, and has been involved in product liability cases across the country arising from exposure to asbestos, silica, and coal dust.
In addition to defending clients in litigation, Trent has been retained to assist clients with policies and proactive strategies for staying out of the courtroom. He has drafted materials and presented at multiple client seminars related to risk management, loss prevention, claims investigation, early dispute resolution, and overall liability reduction. He has also aided clients in implementing large-scale programs for alternative dispute resolution and cost control, recognizing the balance that must often be struck between litigation results and a client’s bottom line.
