William’s practice focuses on creating, growing, defending, and advising businesses and business owners in West Virginia and nationwide. He has formed and reorganized over 100 businesses, represented clients in mergers and acquisitions totaling over $200 million, and facilitated the sale of over 10,000 acres of real property. He has also represented businesses in contract and real estate disputes totaling over $500 million in controversy, including appeals before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and trial before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. William also has an international trade compliance practice focused on the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and trade sanctions and embargoes administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
William previously worked for Judge Roderick C. Young of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Judge Deanis Simmons, of Virginia’s 28th Judicial Circuit.
