Russell is a corporate partner in the Dayton, Ohio office who concentrates his practice on general corporate and business law, municipal law, and real estate law. This practice includes: the purchase, sale, consolidation, merger, and acquisition of entities; corporate governance; real estate matters such as the purchase and sale of both commercial and residential property, leasing, and zoning matters; municipal regulations, budgetary compliance, and economic development services; and a variety of general corporate matters. He has experience working with clients of varying sizes across a broad range of industries, both public and private.

Prior to joining Dinsmore, Russell worked for the City of Dayton, Ohio where he focused on the Departments of Economic Development and advised the City on numerous PACE, TIF, and CRA matters. There, he negotiated and drafted real estate purchase and sale agreements, professional service agreements, ordinances, and resolutions necessary for the daily operations of the City. Russell also assisted the City with the expenditure and grant of approximately 138 million dollars in American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 funding from the federal government. Russell’s rich experience in the public sector allows him to provide unique insight to his private corporate clients.

Clients can rely on Russell’s acumen whether they are starting a new business, selling their existing business, or seeking advice with any operations in the day-to-day. He creatively solves problems for his clients to help them achieve their goals in both a timely and cost-effective manner. Russell is an active member of the Dayton community. He served as a past president of Gem City Kitties, a local animal welfare non-profit, and is currently an Adjunct Professor for the University of Dayton School of Law. Russell’s dedication to his community has been recognized by the Dayton Business Journal, which named him one of Dayton’s 40 under 40 in 2024.
