The Procter & Gamble Company

A long history as trusted counsel

As one of the world’s largest and most trusted companies, The Procter & Gamble Company (“P&G”) has no shortage of legal needs. Whether seeking counsel on corporate strategy, navigating real estate transactions or protecting their shareholders’ assets, P&G relies on its legal counsel to keep its business running efficiently. That’s why, for nearly 100 years, the consumer products giant has turned to Dinsmore.

Dinsmore works closely with P&G’s in-house lawyers to provide an array of services, including general corporate and securities matters, contracts and agreements, intellectual property, real estate matters and all manners of litigation, including sophisticated product liability and class action cases.

As an example, P&G entrusts our team to advise them on all varieties of trademark, copyright, advertising and design protection matters, encompassing brand development, procurement and guidance, as well as enforcement efforts. We routinely work with P&G’s in-house legal team to provide support on clearance opinions, advertising review, strategic positioning and prosecution of trademarks for their wide variety of products. We have also handled numerous enforcement matters to protect P&G’s trademarks and intellectual property rights, ranging from cease-and-desist letters to litigating matters in federal courts, and including working to stop the distribution of counterfeit goods with U.S. customs and law enforcement. We regularly handle enforcement efforts online with experience in UDRP proceedings against infringing domain names, and takedowns of websites selling counterfeit goods or otherwise infringing on our client’s intellectual property right.

Notably, Dinsmore handles P&G’s North American real estate portfolio, which includes a wide variety of real estate, from manufacturing and distribution facilities to office space, retail sites and franchise locations. This counsel encompasses advising on leasing arrangements, including terms and conditions of the lease, from letter of intent through lease termination, including extensions, renewals, assignments and subleasing. We also advise P&G on various real estate matters including acquisitions and dispositions, easements, condemnations, restrictions and environmental issues.

“Our relationship with P&G is foundational to who we are as a firm,” said Joshua Lorentz, Managing Partner of Dinsmore. “It reflects nearly a century of trust and collaboration, and speaks to our unwavering commitment to providing innovative, strategic counsel for one of the world’s most respected companies.”

Decades of experience and deep institutional knowledge enable our team to work with P&G in aligning their business goals and legal strategies, allowing us to become a true business partner.
