Kyle R. Bunnell

Senior Associate

Kyle is a trusted advisor when clients are faced with complex problems.  Representing clients from pre-litigation through appeals, Kyle handles cases across a wide range of industries including complex business and commercial litigation, equine law, insurance bad faith, product liability and personal injury defense.

Kyle has extensive litigation experience, having acted as first-chair trial counsel in federal court jury trials and served on trial teams in federal and state court jury and bench trials, as well as before administrative agencies and tribunals.  He has also achieved successful results on behalf of his clients at the motion to dismiss and summary judgment stages in matters across Kentucky state and federal courts.  Outside of the trial courts, he has represented clients in appellate proceedings before the Kentucky Supreme Court, Kentucky Court of Appeals and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.  Additionally, he has mediated and arbitrated numerous cases to successful outcomes.

Kyle recognizes litigation is not “one-size fits all” and that each case and client is different.  He prides himself on finding creative solutions inside and outside the courtroom, but importantly navigates clients to appreciate and manage risks that are involved at every stage of a dispute.  Communication is key to Kyle. Whether it’s picking up the phone to talk to clients and opposing counsel, or visiting clients to understand their businesses and operations, he understands the importance of listening and discussing issues to maximize results based on each client’s needs.

Within the Firm, Kyle serves on Dinsmore’s Professional Development, Engagement and Recruiting Committees and is a Leadership Academy Faculty Member, a program designed for new lawyers hired into the Firm.  Outside the Firm, Kyle is deeply involved in the legal community and beyond.  He is the Chair-Elect of the Kentucky Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division, serves on the Kentucky Bar Association Publications Committee, is a member of the Board of Directors for Lawyers Mutual of Kentucky, the University of Kentucky College of Law Alumni Association and the Children’s Law Center.

In his spare time, Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife, son and dog, traveling, tennis, running and reading.
