Anthony F. Bonner, Jr.

Partner

Tony is a partner who advises Fortune 500 companies, emerging businesses, and innovators on the development, protection, and commercialization of intellectual property assets. His practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, IP strategy, licensing, and related counseling, with experience spanning the full lifecycle of innovation—from invention capture through portfolio management and monetization. Tony has substantial experience across electrical, computer, and mechanical technologies. His work in the electrical and computer fields includes artificial intelligence and machine learning, software and internet technologies, microelectronics, networking and communications systems, and semiconductor design. In the mechanical space, he has advised on manufacturing systems and medical devices. In addition to prosecution, Tony regularly counsels clients on IP risk management, including patentability, non-infringement, and invalidity analyses, and he provides strategic guidance on open source software use and compliance. He works closely with in-house legal teams, engineers, and business stakeholders to develop practical, business-aligned IP strategies that support product development, competitive positioning, and long-term portfolio value.
