James E. Cole

Biography

James focuses his practice on intellectual property, including patent prosecution, trademarks, copyrights and opinion work. Clients ranging from corporate counsel, engineers, business owners, and independent inventors look to James for counsel on infringement and the filing and prosecution of patent applications. His mechanical engineering background equips him with the technical knowledge and experience to handle a variety of technologies, including automotive components, aircraft turbine engines, industrial shredders, lighting, recreational vehicle and marine equipment, railroad industry equipment, printing, land clearing machinery and sporting devices, among others.

Prior to practicing law, he was a plant engineer at Dravo Lime Company where he coordinated and supervised the design, purchase and installation of a wide range of plant update and enhancement projects, such as a waste water treatment facility, a potable water system, a plant compressed air system, and other updates to steel structures.
