Richik Sarkar

Richik advises and advocates for clients working in media, technology, utility, real estate, finance, retail, and other industries. He spearheads commercial, consumer, and cybersecurity, complex and class action litigation (often related to unfair and deceptive trade practices, consumer regulations, and government sanctions) and special projects for his small, middle market, and Fortune 500 companies.

He also counsels clients with respect to risk and crisis management and is regularly sought to speak on issues related to corporate and governance strategy, policy management, regulatory investigations, and fiduciary liability. When working with a client, Richik considers the short- and long-term goals and develops a strategy specific to those objectives. That means addressing any immediate issues his clients are facing, while also contemplating ways to avoid any similar challenges in the future.

Setting Richik apart from many of his peers is his willingness to challenge assumptions and employ creative and strategic thinking to resolve immediate and underlying business issues and disputes. He succeeds because he recognizes his clients are not interested in litigation or scholarly legal analysis; instead, Richik provides commercial judgment and legal intelligence strategically deployed to make his clients successful.

He has extensive experience successfully defending clients against numerous consumer complaints (sometimes numbering hundreds in a month). Such complaints were brought under, among other things, the FTC Act; the TCPA; the ADA; state and federal corruption and trade practices statutes; state and federal consumer protection and UDAP laws and common law negligence; breach of fiduciary duty; breach of contract; and conspiracy theories.

Richik is consistently recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America® and Ohio Super Lawyers and is on Lawyers of Color’s first Nation’s Best list.
