Law Students

Beyond research and writing, we make every effort to provide law students meaningful, practical experience. Whether it’s observing and assisting attorneys, training and educational programs, mentoring, learning firm culture, or receiving constructive feedback, our program is generally self-directed with projects collected from lawyers throughout the firm. Being a full-service firm, most summer associates have the opportunity to select work in their areas of interest. Whenever possible, we allow summer associates to choose their own assignments.

During the time at Dinsmore, law students get continuing education. From live panel discussions with in-house counsel to luncheon seminars to a courtroom visit, we help students identify what’s important to our clients and give them the tools to develop a strong legal practice.  Attorneys are expected to provide oral and written feedback for each project a summer associate undertakes. Additionally, all summer associates undergo a formal evaluation in which their work product is reviewed by Summer Program directors, and they are counseled on the areas in which they can improve.

We also offer plenty of social activities to help students have fun and learn the city while building personal and professional relationships.

The firm is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We provide equal opportunities in all employment positions, regardless of age (as defined in the Age Discrimination in Employment Act), disability, sex, national origin, race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or veteran status.
