Labor and Employment Associates Cincinnati, OH • Columbus, OH 

Dinsmore has an immediate need for Labor & Employment Associates in the Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio offices. Candidates applying for the Columbus opportunity must have 1-2 years’ of labor and employment experience and the Cincinnati opportunities require a minimum of 1-3 years’ of labor and employment experience. Recent graduates with a demonstrated interest in labor and employment will also be considered for the Cincinnati office. Responsibilities include advising employers on compliance with state and federal employment laws and working on FMLA, ADA, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, and violation of wage law matters. Experience taking depositions, arguing motions, and preparing cases for trial is preferred. Additionally, all candidates should be licensed to practice in Ohio, have a strong academic background, and possess excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.

Labor and Employment Associate Morgantown, WV

The Morgantown office of Dinsmore has an immediate opportunity available for a Labor & Employment Associate.  Candidates must have a minimum of four years of experience advising employers on compliance with state and federal employment laws and defending litigation alleging discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, and violation of wage laws. Experience in dealing with the National Labor Relations Board and familiarity with federal labor law will be considered. Additionally, all candidates should be licensed to practice in West Virginia.

Tax Attorney Louisville, KY •  Lexington, KY  • Cincinnati, OH • Columbus, OH 

Dinsmore & Shohl has an immediate opportunity available for a Tax attorney in Louisville or Lexington, Kentucky, Cincinnati or Columbus, Ohio, or Chicago, Illinois. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of core tax experience, including counseling and advising clients on transactional matters with all aspects of corporate tax, partnership and income tax planning, corporate franchise, real estate tax, and other general business and regulatory matters. A CPA license or LLM in taxation is not required, but is a plus. Estate Planning Associate Cincinnati, OH

Dinsmore has an immediate opportunity available for an Associate in our Estate Planning Practice Group. Applicants must have three to five years of estate planning experience. The Associate would work in the Estate Planning Practice Group and responsibilities include counseling clients and assisting in estate planning, estate administration, fiduciary services, and advising clients in other matters. Specific transactional and estate planning experience, as well as a general familiarity with basic tax concepts, would be a plus. A license to practice in Ohio is required. Staff Positions

Billing Clerk Cincinnati, OH

Dinsmore & Shohl is seeking a Billing Clerk for our Cincinnati location.  This position will be responsible for the daily billing functions including time and cost transfers, write-downs, computer bills, special bills, void/rebills and attorney inquiries.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all aspects of billing for assigned attorneys and clients in accordance with Firm policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates all aspects of electronic billing through client electronic billing sites and E-billing Hub as required by clients.
  • Reviews, edits and processes pre-bills.
  • Reviews pre-bills to ensure accurate application of retainers, on account expenses, on account fees, unapplied and trust funds.
  • Perform various reconciliation and monitoring adjustments to ensure final invoice to client is accurate.  Includes write offs, rate overrides, etc.
  • Communicates with billing attorneys and/or secretaries regarding billing matters.
  • Prepares final invoices for transmittal to clients.
  • Prints computer bills and provides secretaries with PDF copy.
  • Maintain and disseminate information on special client time reporting and billing requirements as needed.
  • Manage high volume of emails and calls pertaining to legal billing.
  • Provide first level of billing system technical support to Firm attorneys and support staff.
  • Maintains accurate and complete documentation of billing changes for audit trail.  Scans related documents into CMS as needed.
  • Prepares ad hoc billing reports upon request from billing attorney.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Regional Office Administrator Louisville, KY

Dinsmore & Shohl, LLP, has an immediate opening in their Louisville, KY office for a full-time, experienced Regional Office Administrator. The Regional Office Administrator will manage all administrative and HR functions, including personnel, facilities and daily office operations. Successful candidates should have a demonstrated capacity to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently in order to meet deadlines on a timely basis, have the ability to adapt to current and future responsibilities, as well as the willingness to expand responsibilities as needed. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and work directly with the Office Managing Partner on day to day operational issues. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time is a requirement. The Office Administrator will manage the downtown Louisville office and a small suburban satellite office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of legal secretaries and other administrative personnel
  • Ensure proper staffing, monitor workloads and overtime. Continuously review attorney support needs/staffing goals of the firm and make recommendations to increase or decrease personnel, as necessary
  • Recruitment of legal secretaries and administrative personnel in accordance with Human Resources processes
  • Administration of the firm's evaluation process for non-attorney personnel - all in accordance with Human Resources guidelines and procedures
  • Assist with employee onboarding and exiting processes. Conduct local orientation of new hires.
  • Serve as first point of local contact for non-legal personnel issues, including counseling issues, personal issues and corrective actions
  • Handle all aspects of facility maintenance, including building security, office assignments, office moves and supplies
  • When necessary, assist with space planning and oversight of construction under the direction of the COO for an office expansion or move.
