John D. Grasty

Biography

John focuses his practice on intellectual property. His experience includes drafting USPTO Office Action response strategies, drafting patentability opinions of inventions, and summarizing case law for pending trademark litigation. Prior to law school, John worked as a quality development engineer for an automotive OEM for two years.

In law school, John was also part of a USPTO National Patent Application Drafting Competition team, which presented an application to practitioners, and was the regional runner-up. He was also a judicial extern to Judge James R. Sweeney II of the Southern District of Indiana, and served as the Executive Editor of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies. John also competed in the University of Oxford International Law IP Moot as part of a team. He received his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
