Dinsmore & Shohl LLP has added 21 associates to the firm across eight offices. 

Charleston, WV

Clayton T. Harkins joined the Charleston office and will practice out of the litigation department, focusing on commercial litigation. Harkins received his J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law and has experience conducting research and writing legal memoranda on topics including leases, contracts, landlord and tenant issues, and consumer problems. He also handles title research and drafts title opinions

Chicago, IL

Tyler C. Smith joined the Chicago office and will practice out of the litigation department. Smith’s previous experience includes researching and analyzing complex legal issues, drafting pleadings and supporting briefs, assisting in client interviews and depositions, organizing and responding to discovery requests, and conducting case valuations. He received his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, where he served as both a staff member and editor for DePaul Law Review.

Cincinnati, OH

J. Adam Bryne, Jr. joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the corporate department. Bryne will focus his practice on mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation, and general corporate law. He received his J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where he participated in the transactional law certificate program. Prior to joining Dinsmore, he served as an extern at The Coca-Cola Company in the mergers and acquisitions legal function.

Chelsea J. Chalk joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the litigation department, with a focus on commercial litigation. A graduate of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, Chalk has worked in the Marion County prosecutor’s office and has experience writing briefs, motions and memos, researching and assisting with voir dire, evaluating defense strategies and contacting witnesses.

Pablo J. Davis joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the litigation department, focusing on False Claims Act (FCA) litigation and conducting investigations in response to government subpoenas and civil investigative demands, as well as general commercial litigation. Davis brings an international and multilingual background to his practice and is an experienced legal interpreter and translator. He received his J.D. from the University of Memphis School of Law.

Nicolas M. Eadie joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the intellectual property department. Eadie’s experience includes drafting patent applications, reporting letters and patentability opinions with respect to mechanical and electrical inventions, drafting responses to USPTO actions and managing personal dockets. He received his J.D. from The University at Buffalo School of Law, and holds an M.S. and B.S. in mechanical engineering and a B.S. in physics.

Tory L. Finley joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the litigation department, focusing on commercial litigation. He received his J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law and previously worked at Dinsmore during law school. Finley also has a pro bono practice and has been active in assisting with community mental health care.

Everett N. Jones III joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the litigation department. Previously a college professor, Jones has years of experience as a professional musician and has received various related awards. His legal experience includes research, assisting with depositions and arbitration preparation, and preparing expert witnesses for cross examination. Jones received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

J. Sayre Payne joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the litigation department. Prior to his legal career, Payne completed Army Ranger School and served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division, leading troops in combat in southern Afghanistan. His legal experience includes drafting appellate briefs and conducting research on legal issues ranging from child abuse to capital punishment. Payne received his J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law.

Elias C. Sayre joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the intellectual property department. Sayre focuses his practice on intellectual property, preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in various technical areas, with a specialty in chemistry. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law and has a B.S. in chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry.

Brittany K. Skibowski joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the corporate department. She focuses her practice on contract and lease drafting and performs transactional due diligence for clients, including review of title commitments, surveys and entitlement matters. Skibowski received her J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

Ambur C. Smith joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the corporate department. Prior to joining Dinsmore, she gained experience in international negotiation and representation as an intern for the Legal Resources Center, South Africa’s largest nonprofit legal clinic, and as a member of Georgetown’s International Women’s Human Rights Clinic. Smith received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Jordan M. Starks joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the corporate department. Starks received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and has researched a wide range of legal issues responding to client questions on employment matters. He has also drafted quitclaim deeds and compiled critical date summaries.

Zachary J. Weber joined the Cincinnati office and will practice out of the labor department. Weber’s experience includes researching cases on appeal from federal district courts and authoring memorandums for cases in areas such as civil rights, employee discrimination, Title IV, various workplace policies and post-conviction relief. He received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Columbus, OH

Mark J. Gayetsky joined the Columbus office and will practice out of the corporate department. He received his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Gayetsky’s experience includes analyzing and making recommendations on legal research in areas including contract, employment, probate, oil and gas, real estate, and tax. He also drafts legal complaints, motions to inventory and motions for reconsideration.

Samuel A. Seeds joined the Columbus office and will practice out of the corporate department with experience drafting preliminary court documents, conducting research for practicing attorneys in preparation for upcoming cases, and gathering and interpreting data for upcoming cases. Seeds received his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

Tyler J. Simms joined the Columbus office and will practice out of the corporate department, focusing on health care law. He received his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and was an articles editor on The Ohio State Law Journal and an executive board member of the Moot Court Governing Board. He also competed on the national civil rights and liberties moot court team.

Detroit, MI

Jennifer L. Pope joined the Detroit office and will practice out of the litigation department, focusing on commercial litigation. Her experience includes researching and preparing comprehensive legal memoranda, drafting complaints, motions, interrogatories, trial briefs, and state and federal compliance policies for human resource professionals. Pope received her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Huntington, WV

Brittany S. Given joined the Huntington office and will practice out of the litigation department. Given received her J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law. During law school, she practiced as a student attorney in the Veterans Advocacy Clinic and represented veterans in litigation matters before administrative agencies and courts. She also worked as an intern at the West Virginia University Center for Excellence in Disabilities and developed informational materials on federal and state special education laws and policies.

Louisville, KY

Boyu Wang joined the Louisville office and will practice out of the litigation department. Wang previously clerked for Chief Judge Vaidik at the Indiana Court of Appeals, where she drafted and edited memoranda on issues of law and overheard arguments and an externship with the Indiana University Office of the Vice President and General Counsel, where she conducted legal research and drafted motions for summary judgment. She received her J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

Pittsburgh, PA

Melissa N. Fann joined the Pittsburgh office and will practice out of the corporate department. Prior, Fann interned with Judge Michael Wojcik of the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, worked at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Health Law Clinic, served as a teaching assistant in the health care compliance graduate certificate and legal writing programs, and worked for a nonprofit environmental law firm. She received her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and her M.P.H. from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health in health policy and management.
