David W. Grillo

Biography

David builds intellectual property portfolios for forward-thinking businesses. He safeguards and monetizes innovative ideas with patents for inventions and trademarks for branding. Clients rely on his counsel for patent acquisition and valuation as well as trademark acquisition and enforcement. He represents clients in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), including the Board of Appeals, and trademark cancelation proceedings. David also engages with foreign counsel worldwide to procure global patent and trademark rights. 

As a registered patent attorney, David has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in software, electrical, and mechanical domains. He is frequently engaged in offensive and defensive forward patent initiatives and other portfolio development strategies, including patent acquisition and licensing. David has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications and has represented renowned multinational businesses, organizations, and individuals for two decades.
