Meet Ashley Pack
The balancing act of life and career goals will inevitably include points in which you are faced with significant challenges.
What have been the challenges faced in your professional career?
Challenges are inevitable on the road to success. Looking back on those challenges, I realize that in nearly every instance, they created opportunities for me to learn something new or grow in some way, even if it seemed painful at the time. In today’s world, women encounter an expectation to be everything to everyone, which can feel overwhelming at times. My challenges have been finding enough time and energy for all of my professional and personal pursuits, including maintaining a thriving law practice, serving on non-profit boards that serve the needs of my community, and especially being a good mom to my son.
What have you learned, what have you taken away from these experiences that helped shape the person you are today?
I have learned that I am very resilient and push myself to maintain a positive outlook. There are going to be tough days and maybe even tough weeks. To overcome these times, I focus on being in the moment and not becoming overwhelmed by factors outside of my control. I have also learned that much of life’s success comes from giving maximum effort in any given situation. Whether I am in a board meeting or dealing with the special education needs of my son, each is extremely important in my life and requires dedication in that moment. Like many life lessons, it’s simple but hard. I have spent the better part of 20 years putting this way of thinking into practice, and it’s still a work in progress. I have found the key to overcoming life’s challenges is a positive attitude, organization, and adaptability, and you cannot forget to have fun along the way.
