Dinsmore Broadens its National Bench with Five Attorney Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Team

In response to the escalating demands of national business clients, Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is enhancing its cybersecurity and data privacy offering with a sophisticated five-attorney team based in the Cleveland region. Led by Craig Horbus, who brings two decades of domestic and international regulatory compliance and technical contracting experience, as well as a strong mergers and acquisitions dimension to the team, the attorneys are looking forward to “the many doors opened” by joining Dinsmore.

“The idea of having offices coast to coast is extremely exciting,” Craig said. “When you need boots on the ground, it’s nice to be able to call on colleagues who can close the geographic gap to get things done for clients in a variety of practice areas. I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and seizing these opportunities.”

Cybersecurity and data privacy are integral components of risk management, brand protection and corporate responsibility for major companies operating in today’s interconnected digital landscape. “The challenge on the regulatory landscape is that we have 50 states in the U.S., in addition to countries all over the world, that have their own complicated regulatory policies,” Craig said. “It’s important to have access to counsel wherever you need it, and Dinsmore is doubling down on that expertise so that if systems are compromised, our clients are prepared and we can help them mitigate the damage.”

“This is an incredible opportunity for Dinsmore to grow its scale nationally and provide additional bench strength in an area that is paramount to clients,” said Dinsmore managing partner Joshua Lorentz. “Generative AI, ransomware, software supply chain security and protecting cloud-based infrastructure are concerns that keep our clients up at night. Broadening our cybersecurity and data privacy bench ensures we can be proactive in our game plans.”

Over the past year especially, Dinsmore’s accelerating growth pattern can be attributed to attracting top talent from coast to coast who have heard about the Firm’s commitment to autonomy, transparency and a collaborative culture and want to be a part of it.

“The robust practice of these attorneys will enhance significantly the existing cybersecurity and data privacy work in our office and throughout Dinsmore,” said Jim Dimitrijevs, Cleveland’s office managing partner. “This continues our ongoing efforts to expand Dinsmore’s presence in Northeast Ohio.”

The Firm continues to be on a growth trajectory. In early January, Dinsmore opened its first office in Texas, on the heels of filling out its footprint in Florida with 19 and 11 attorney teams in Orlando and Miami, respectively.
