World Trademark Review has classified Dinsmore & Shohl LLP as a gold-ranked firm (its top ranking) and given five Dinsmore trademark attorneys individual recognition in the annual WTR 1000 for 2022.

The firm’s trademark group services more than 50,000 active trademark and copyright matters worldwide. WTR lists Dinsmore trademark attorneys April Besl, Jim Dimitrijevs, Karen Gaunt, Kimberly Gambrel and Grant Monachino as recommended attorneys. Individually, WTR ranked Gaunt and Dimitrijevs gold; Besl and Monachino silver; and Gambrel bronze.

The WTR 1000 identifies the world’s leading trademark professionals. Firms earning gold status “undertake the most sophisticated work,” according to the World Trade Review.

“We have identified them as the crème de la crème; their success often hinges on reputations established over lengthy periods of time, something which enables them to secure the most high-profile, big-ticket work from the most prestigious of clients,” World Trade Review explained of its gold, silver and bronze rankings.

As part of its gold ranking, the firm’s trademark group “makes light work of the management of expansive portfolios and smoothly resolves disputes at the administrative and judicial level, garnering effusive praise from the market for its superlative all-round offering,” according to WTR.

Dinsmore attorneys were lauded for their expertise and practical trademark insight. WTR described Besl as an “incredibly smart, experienced, responsive and confidence-inspiring attorney.”

Gaunt, who leads the intellectual property litigation division, “really cares about her clients and cases,” WTR wrote in the Dinsmore company overview. “Her strategic approach produces consistently satisfying results. She is also one of the few outside attorneys who can efficiently conduct clearance work while communicating results and guidance in a format that can easily be translated into action by business folks.”

Dimitrijevs and Monachino, meanwhile, are assisting a nationwide retailer with more than 25,000 trademark matters as it transitions to a dual international brick-and-mortar operation and e-commerce platform.

World Trademark Review has recognized Dinsmore for its trademark legal work since 2014.
