Eric K. Combs is a partner in the Commercial Litigation practice group at Dinsmore & Shohl. Mr. Combs is an experienced trial lawyer and trusted advisor to businesses. He practices commercial litigation in federal and state courts and has extensive first-chair trial experience, bringing numerous jury trials to successful verdicts. Mr. Combs has secured significant results for clients before juries, judges and arbitrators, and has successfully negotiated multi-million dollar settlements in matters ranging from consumer class actions to complex real estate and construction cases. He has represented in court and counseled companies large and small, including multiple professional sports franchises, Fortune 500 companies such as The Procter & Gamble Company, Kraft Foods Group, and Bank of America, and closely-held companies and individuals in various industries.
In addition to his trial practice, Mr. Combs has unique experience in advising and representing sports franchise, facility management, facility owner and amateur athlete clients on issues presented in the business and regulation of sports. His experience includes consulting and representation of clients across the broad range of areas in which the law applies to the business of sports, including matters ranging from defense of class action suits brought by NFL season ticket holders to eligibility disputes involving high school athletes.

Mr. Combs actively participates in a number of community and professional organizations. He is President-Elect of the Cincinnati Bar Association and Chairman of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Poor Foundation Board. He also serves on the Boards of Trustees of ArtsWave, the May Festival, and the Cincinnati Law and Leadership Institute. Mr. Combs serves on the Miami University Pre-Law Advisory Board, the Hamilton County Republican Party Judicial Selection Committee and Dinsmore’s Recruiting Committee. He also teaches Sports Law as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
Mr. Combs is a past recipient of the Forty Under 40 Award presented by the Business Courier, and completed the Leadership Cincinnati program as part of Class XXXII. In 2013, he received the Teaching Excellence Award from the UC Law Alumni Association for his work as an Adjunct Professor.
