This webinar is appropriate for a novice or intermediary banker and/or servicer in a Chapter 7 consumer bankruptcy. In Chapter 7 Basics, we will cover (1) the “ins and outs” of a debtor’s bankruptcy schedules, statements and related filings; (2) the debtor’s statement of intentions; (3) when a creditor should file a proof of claim and any associated deadlines; (4) when a creditor must/should seek stay relief and/or abandonment; (5) potential issues that can arise between a creditor and the Chapter 7 trustee and how to navigate these issues; and (6) effects of a discharge.  This webinar will focus on issues important to secured and unsecured creditors.
