Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is pleased to welcome partner Robert Schein to its Indianapolis office and to its award-winning national construction law practice.

Schein joins Dinsmore from a local firm, where he practiced for nearly 21 of his 25 years as an attorney. His practice focuses primarily on construction law and litigation, as well as municipal and governmental law and economic development. His varied legal background enables him to effectively assist clients on matters ranging from construction, government and manufacturing projects, to potential infringement issues, as well as guiding economic development and bond transactions and serving as outside general counsel.

Joining Dinsmore, with its multi-state presence, provides Schein with a wealth of opportunities to attract large clients, including, as he put it, “game-changing” construction industry and manufacturing clients. In 2021, Construction Executive magazine named the firm a top 50 construction firm.

“I do this work to provide solutions for my clients,” Schein said. “Joining Dinsmore is a great opportunity to help my clients.”

Since construction projects remain strong across the country with no slowdown in sight, possibilities are boundless.

“We keep thinking, ‘When is our bubble going to burst?” Schein asked. “On the federal side, the prospect of road and infrastructure funding reaching the state level is keeping this tremendous momentum going and continues to be a huge boom to the industry.”

Schein has represented owners and contractors in construction projects, including complicated litigation matters. He counsels owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and designers in matters relating to construction projects, with special attention on contract dispute resolution and litigation issues. He also guides clients in drafting and negotiating contract dispute resolution and litigation matters involving public and private projects.

“I love to practice law and help people,” he said. “I’m excited. I’m energized.”

Dinsmore Indianapolis Office Managing Partner Misha Rabinowitch shared Schein’s enthusiasm in welcoming him to the firm.

“Rob is a very experienced, high-caliber lawyer who cares deeply about his work and the community in which he lives,” Rabinowitch said. “He’s a perfect addition to Dinsmore’s Indiana office and the tremendous collaborative culture we’ve developed.”

An Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law graduate, Schein loves outdoor sports and enjoys hiking, cycling, skiing and golfing. The father of four has made strides to stay involved in his community, particularly as it relates to youth empowerment. He has coached baseball, softball and football for 16 years. In addition, he serves on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Boone County, previously having served as president, as well as an executive committee member. He has also served on leadership teams for his church’s awakenings youth leadership retreat.

“I love impacting youth,” he said. “It’s been a passion of mine. I’m really trying to make a positive difference with the people that we interact with. I truly believe we all have that calling.”
