The Society for Ohio Health Care Attorneys (SOHA) has a new president in Dinsmore partner of counsel Tim Cahill. SOHA is a professional society under the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA).

Per the SOHA website, its mission is to “advance health care law by providing a forum for the exchange of information among attorneys serving health care providers. The community also provides a wealth of relevant educational programs, and closely monitors emerging legal issues and developing case law pertaining to Ohio health care.”

As president, Cahill will chair the group’s monthly meetings and oversee the planning of its two annual conferences, which are organized in conjunction with the Ohio Society of Health Care Risk Managers.

Cahill spent two years as SOHA’s secretary before being elected vice president, which segues to the presidency. He is succeeding fellow Dinsmore partner Eric Plinke in the position. As president, Cahill plans to find more ways for SOHA to help further the initiatives of OHA.

“Becoming president is a great honor,” Cahill said. “My association with SOHA has been very rewarding, and I look forward to developing the ways SOHA can be beneficial for health care attorneys in Ohio.”

Cahill joined Dinsmore in 2019 from Adena Health System, where he served as general counsel and board liaison for nearly five years. He received a B.S. in physical therapy from The Ohio State University and J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
